On Thursday, Aug. 25, experts from Thompson Health Senior Living Services, the Alzheimer’s Association and the University of Rochester will come together to provide help for members of our community who are among the 11 million Americans providing unpaid care for people with Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. “Dementia Care Challenges, Choices and Resources: A Workshop for Caregivers” will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church, 3360 Middle Cheshire Road in Canandaigua. The keynote speaker for the event is Dr. Gary Kochersberger, the chief of Geriatrics and Extended Care for the Canandaigua VA Medical Center, as well as a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Rochester and the former Medical Director of Senior Living Services for Thompson Health.
