On Wednesday, July 7, Thompson Health will host Camp MEDQUEST for students who are entering grades 9 through 12 and interested in exploring healthcare careers.
Coordinated by the Western New York Rural-Area Health Education Center, the one-day camp will be held at F.F. Thompson Hospital, 350 Parrish St. in Canandaigua.
Campers will be introduced to several fields within health care and learn more about the skills that are required to become a health professional. Hands-on activities and interaction with Thompson professionals will make the experience both fun and educational. Campers will also learn about the layout and functions of the hospital, as well as see how each discipline interacts with others in order to administer quality patient care.
Lunch and snacks will be provided during the camp, which runs from 8:45 a.m. to 4 p.m. and involves a $30 registration fee. Registration is required, and the deadline to register is Friday, June 18.
For information or a registration form, contact David Prete, Regional Coordinator for the Western New York R-AHEC, at (607) 324-9838 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
