First, speak with your primary care provider and anyone else knowledgeable about complementary medicine. Recommendation by “word-of-mouth” is the best. Make a list of practitioners or practitioner types you are interested in. Then do some research. Ask them: What certifications do you have? How long have you been practicing? Why did you choose to do this? Have you helped people with my condition before? How many visits would you expect? How much do you charge?
You should also check your insurance to see if any of the practitioners are providers on your plan.
For your first visit, write down your questions about your area(s) of concern. And, don’t forget to bring information about your past medical history such as surgeries, medication, vitamins and supplements you may be taking.
All in all, most practitioners will listen to you and do their best to help you.
At BodyMind we strive to do these things naturally. When you need us, give us a call.
