Patient visitors are welcome at Thompson Health. We believe that the support of family and friends is vital a patient's return to optimal health. Yet, because rest is also important, we suggest that patients have no more than two visitors at a time.
Visitors should call Patient Information at (585) 396-6663 to find out whether there are any restrictions on visitors. Because children tend to pick up and carry infection more readily than adults, children under the age of 14 are not encouraged to visit patient floors. However, exceptions are made in some circumstances. We ask that visitors may not bring food to patients unless they have cleared it with a physician or nurse.
Visiting Hours Visiting hours for medical/surgical units are 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Visitors to the ICU and the Birthing Center need to check with the nursing staff there about specific visitor limitations and visiting hours.
Family cannot spend the night if their loved one is in a semi-private room. This is disruptive to the care and privacy of the other patient. Please refrain from visiting if you are ill.
Waiting Areas The hospital main lobby and M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center main lobby both are furnished with fireplaces and an abundance of comfortable seating. Waiting rooms furnished with TVs are available in all patient care areas. In addition, our Emergency Department offers a child’s play room, with toys and games for the little ones. You may also enjoy a 50-gallon aquarium, viewable from both sides, located in the Diagnostic Imaging waiting area.
Parking Free parking is available for patients and visitors in designated parking lots at all entrances of the facility. Patients needing emergency care can be dropped off and picked up using the driveway in front of the Emergency Department. The main entrance driveway is for patients being dropped off and patients being discharged only. Please do not leave your car unattended in any of the driveways.
