Today we are the premier healthcare provider for more than 215,000 people in upstate New York’s greater Finger Lakes area. Thompson Health was named one of Becker Hospital Review's "150 Top Places To Work in Healthcare" in 2023, 2022, 2018, 2017, 2016 and 2015. Also, in 2022, 2020, 2019 and 2018, the health system was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation as a “Leader in LGBTQ Healthcare Equality.” In recognition of workplace wellness initiatives, Thompson received the Wealth of Health Award from the Rochester Business Journal and Excellus BlueCross BlueShield in 2009, 2011, 2014, 2017 and 2019.

F.F. Thompson Hospital is a 113-bed acute care community hospital which boasts some of the finest technology and staff in all of upstate New York.  F.F. Thompson Hospital is proud of its commitment to primary care medicine and being a part of the community it serves. We are designated by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a Magnet® hospital, in recognition of nursing excellence, as well as a New York State-designated Stroke Center.

Other quality achievements include a number of honors from the nation's premier healthcare quality improvement and accrediting body, The Joint Commission:

M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center

The M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center is a not-for-profit skilled-nursing facility offering quality long-term care as well as rehabilitative care in a clean, safe and pleasant environment. M.M. Ewing has 178 skilled nursing beds on five avenues: Lakeview, Pines, Gardens, Meadows and the Skilled Transitional Unit.

The associates at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center specialize in caring for those who need daily nursing and other personal service. Single and semi-private accommodations are available with community dining and activity areas to encourage socialization while meeting individual needs and preferences.

A special care environment has been developed on the Gardens avenue for those residents who have Alzheimer's and dementia-related illnesses.

Dedicated, licensed professionals and caregivers work closely with each other and each family to deliver the best possible care while maintaining the resident's individual dignity and independence. Residents are assured convenient access to acute care and outpatient diagnostic and therapeutic services through affiliation with the adjacent F.F. Thompson Hospital.
