2024 Thompson Health Golf Classic

Tournament Raises $50,000 to Benefit the planned Memory Care Neighborhood at Clark Meadows

The F.F. Thompson Foundation netted approximately $50,000 with its annual Thompson Health Golf Classic.

Held at the Cobblestone Creek Country Club in Victor on June 3, the event drew 108 golfers.

Proceeds will benefit the planned Memory Care Neighborhood at Clark Meadows, Thompson’s enriched living community in Canandaigua. Located off Peg Rayburn Drive on the Ferris Hills at West Lake campus, Clark Meadows would add the 12-apartment neighborhood to ensure residents who receive a dementia diagnosis can remain in a place where they feel safe and well cared for.

Heather Rickett, director of the F.F. Thompson Foundation, said the golf tournament represented the first major fundraiser for the project.

“Creating this Memory Care Neighborhood is the right thing to do. There is a tremendous need in our community for dementia care, but this is also a major undertaking for our nonprofit health system,” Rickett said, noting the estimated cost is $2.1 million. Thompson’s fundraising goal is $650,000, with the remaining cost to be financed.

Rickett said the Foundation is grateful to tournament chairs Greg Felosky, Coleen Emblidge, and Jody Stolt as well as Presenting Sponsor KeyBank and all other sponsors and participants.

The Foundation is now busy planning its Western Roundup Gala on Aug. 29 at Lincoln Hill Farms in Canandaigua. This event will also benefit the Memory Care Neighborhood at Clark Meadows. For tickets, visit
