Support Group for Parkinson’s Disease

Project:   General Support of Operations
MCT funding will support the cost of 10 monthly group meetings that will include guest speakers, an annual picnic and a holiday luncheon for approximately 100 members. This group helps those with Parkinson’s disease and their caregivers deal with this chronic and progressive illness, and provides opportunities to meet others with the disease and share ideas.

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office

Project:  Project Lifesaver
Project Lifesaver is a law enforcement-based tracking program that assists in locating those who are prone to wander, such as dementia patients or those with intellectual disabilities like autism. MCT grant funding will assist with purchasing a receiver that is placed in a general location and transmitter bracelets that at-risk clients will wear. If the client is missing, the bracelet will emit a signal to the receiver that will help police locate the individual. The Project Lifesaver program decreases the search time for those who have wandered from hours or days to just minutes.

Partnership for Ontario County

Project:   Believe Collaborative Conference
MCT funding will help fund the Child Advocacy Center of the Finger Lakes, Family Counseling Services of the Finger Lakes, Safe Harbors of the Finger Lakes, and the Ontario County Victim/Witness Assistance Program, all part of the Partnership for Ontario County, to create an educational conference for professionals and community members. The conference will provide pertinent, applicable and current information and education regarding child abuse, domestic violence and sexual assault to professionals and community members.
