Spring 2022

‘Come work where you are heard, seen and valued’

UR Medicine Thompson Health is seeking talent to join “Team Thompson” as it works to continuously improve the health of the residents and communities in the Finger Lakes and surrounding region.

Named Best Innovative Workplace and Best Place to Work in Messenger Post Media’s 2021 Best of the Finger Lakes competition, Thompson offers recognition platforms enabling staff to share appreciation for colleagues, and special programs highlight those who consistently go above and beyond, while all are empowered to make process improvements and share ideas.

In addition, Thompson has been repeatedly recognized for both its wellness programs and its leadership in promoting equitable and inclusive care.

Nurturing the Next Generation

For many years, Thompson has been among the local organizations to partner with Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES’ New Vision programs for high school seniors interested in health care.

The students are a familiar sight on campus, shadowing Thompson professionals to augment on-site classroom learning. Said one, “It has allowed me to define that this is what I’m meant to do.”

New Location for Orthopaedics and Rehabilitation Services

Additional Thompson Health and UR Medicine services are preparing to move into the plaza at 699 S. Main St. in Canandaigua, where Thompson opened its Canandaigua Urgent Care in 2020.

UR Medicine Orthopaedics & Physical Performance – which also has a Victor location – handles inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic care for Thompson and will occupy a 12,000-square-foot space on the northwest end of the plaza, which some locals refer to as “the old Wegmans.”
