There is no question: 2020 has been a year like no other. This is true for our world, for our country and for UR Medicine Thompson Health as well.
However, there is also no question that our health system’s associates – supported by an outstanding community – have shown tremendous grit and determination as well as an incredible ability to navigate any challenges placed before them.

A NEW UR MEDICINE Urgent Care Center is now open in Canandaigua at 699 S. Main St., in what is locally referred to as the “old Wegmans plaza.” This is the third urgent care site affiliated with F.F. Thompson Hospital, which also has locations in Farmington and Newark.

Designed by LaBella Associates, the Sands-Constellation Intensive Care Unit was erected by The Pike Company, Inc., beginning in January 2019. It was part of a larger expansion, which also includes the spacious Marilyn Sands Outpatient Clinic for community members with pulmonary, gastroenterology, and pain management needs.

As the summer continues and fall draws nearer, the community at large continues adjusting to the changes brought about by COVID-19, and healthcare workers are no different.

Two general surgeons from Thompson Health Advanced Surgical Services were recently designated by the independent, nonprofit Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) as Master  Surgeons™ for both hernia surgery and for robotic surgery.
