The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommends that people get vaccinated against influenza as soon as 2012-2013 flu season vaccine becomes available in their community. Influenza seasons are unpredictable, and can begin as early as October. It takes about two weeks after vaccination for antibodies to develop in the body and provide protection against the flu.

The 2012-2013 vaccine provides protection against three different flu viruses plus H3N2 virus, Influenza B virus and H1N1 virus. Please note that flu shots will only be administered at these clinics to those 9 years of age and older.

As a courtesy, Thompson will bill Medicare, MVP products, BlueCross BlueShield products and commercial insurances.  Patients must present an insurance card at the time of the visit.  The cost of the shot for self-pay individuals is $20 and cash, check, MasterCard and Visa are accepted. For more information, please call Thompson Health Urgent Care at (585) 924-1510.
