Stroke Support Group Meets Via Zoom on May 5

CANANDAIGUA – The regional Stroke Support Group hosted by UR Medicine Thompson Health will meet on Thursday, May 5. The meeting will be held at 1 p.m., via Zoom. It will feature occupational therapists from Strong Memorial Hospital, who will discuss tools/strategies when living with the use of one arm or with weakened extremities.

CNA Training Course Begins May 9

CANANDAIGUA – In partnership with Finger Lakes Community College, UR Medicine Thompson Health is offering a five-week training course for individuals interested in becoming certified nursing assistants (CNAs) at the M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center in Canandaigua.

CANANDAIGUA —UR Medicine Thompson Health has received an evaluation of 100 and the designation of “LGBTQ+ Healthcare Equality Leader” in the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 15th anniversary edition of the Healthcare Equality Index (HEI). HEI is the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey of healthcare facilities on policies and practices dedicated to the equitable treatment and inclusion of their LGBTQ+ patients, visitors and employees.

Thompson Expands Hospital Visiting Hours

CANANDAIGUA – In light of the sharp decrease in COVID-19 cases tracked by local health departments, UR Medicine Thompson Health announced that effective today, March 9, hospital visiting hours will return to the pre-pandemic hours of 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.
