New Associate Beginnings

Welcome to UR Medicine Thompson Health!

Soon you will be attending our New Associate Beginnings orientation program (NAB). To ensure that you are well prepared for orientation, please review the following information:

Dates and Times:
MONDAY: Check-in begins at 7:30 am. The program starts promptly at 7:45 am and ends at 4:15 pm.
TUESDAY: Check-in begins at 7:45 am. The program starts promptly at 8:00 am and ends at 3:30 pm. Patient care associates should plan on being in orientation until 5:00 pm.
CLINICAL ONBOARDING: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Each clinical staff member will receive an individual schedule on their second day of orientation.
Refreshments:
Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, water, and a light breakfast will be provided.
Lunch:
Monday’s lunch is on your own. You can bring your lunch or purchase in the cafeteria. Lunch is 30 minutes. Tuesday’s lunch is with your manager/supervisor and is paid for by Thompson Health. Lunch will be one hour on Tuesday.
What To Bring:
New Associate notebook/binder, a pen, and any paperwork or documentation not collected at the time of your physical. Lunch or lunch money for Monday. You may want to bring a sweater or light jacket as the conference room can be chilly.
What to Wear:
Please refer to the dress code. No jeans, shorts, capris, sleeveless shirts, sweatpants, or flip-flops.

  • To ensure your first day on the job begins smoothly, you should obtain the location of where to go on your first day in the department and time to report to work from your supervisor.
