Our staff has extensive experience in all facets of sleep medicine. Our physicians are board certified by the American Academy of Sleep Medicine and are employed by the University of Rochester Medical Center.

Joseph Modrak, M.D.

Dr. Modrak has been treating patients with sleep disorders for over 15 years.  In addition to being the Medical Director at the FF Thompson Sleep Disorders Center, he is the Associate Medical Director at the Strong Sleep Disorders Center.  Dr. Modrak maintains a busy clinical practice, evaluating and managing thousands of patients with sleep disorders each year.  He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, Critical Care, and Sleep Disorders.

Carla Jungquist, FNP

Carla Jungquist, FNP

Carla Jungquist is a family nurse practitioner with specialty in chronic pain and sleep disorders. She holds a PhD in health practice research and is faculty at the University of Buffalo, School of Nursing. She has presented her research entitled “cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia in patients with chronic pain” and “the effects opioid medications have on sleep and breathing” at numerous national sleep conferences. She is has authored several journal articles as well as a book “Cognitive Behavioral Treatment of Insomnia: session by session guide.
