Our multidisciplinary team consists of nurses, physician assistants, surgeons, physical and occupational therapists and social workers.

Patient Education

Total Joint Replacement Group Education Program
A free group educational program to learn how to prepare yourself for joint replacement surgery. First Wednesday of every month from 3 to 4:30 pm in the Constellation Center for Health and Healing.  Nancy Buerman, clinical coordinator of physical therapy at Thompson Health, facilitates the group. For details, call (585) 396-6050.

Educational presentations and guides have been developed to assist those patients who will undergo total knee or total hip replacement surgery. These materials will give you an overview of what to expect during your joint replacement journey. Rest assured, however, that Thompson Health professionals will be there to guide you through the process step by step.

Our Rehabilitation Services department offers a unique program to patients who will undergo total joint replacement surgery-“Pre-hab” in our therapeutic pool at F.F. Thompson Hospital. This “pre-hab” program helps patients maximize their range of motion and strength to help ensure an optimal outcome.
